Why would a church buy a Business Auto Policy?

A Business Auto Policy (BAP) is purchased by a church that has an automobile loss exposure.  Usually, this means that the church owns a vehicle or vehicles.  However, the BAP can also be written for a church that does not own vehicles but wishes to have protection for the exposure to loss created by the church’s use of non-owned vehicles (such as vehicles owned and operated by employees or volunteers and used in service to and at the request of the church).  The BAP can include liability, medical payments, PIP, uninsured motorist, and physical damage coverage.
