“About ten years ago our church decided to install an automatic fire alarm system throughout the property at a cost of about $3,000.  As you know, there are a lot of great ways that a church can use $3,000 to minister to those in need so this decision was not an easy one to make.  Ultimately, we installed the alarm because we felt it was a small price to pay to protect our people and the facilities with which God has blessed us.  On Sunday evening September 2, 2007, that decision was validated when a fire broke out in our church.  Thanks to the alarm we were able to quickly evacuate our sanctuary and extinguish the fire without injury and with only minimal property damage.  What could have been a major fire was limited to one room.  Praise God that no one was injured and no services were missed.”  ~ Pastor Alan McCurdy
